Re: More power
Replace it with a 1200 Hp GM L6. Can't get much more out of an inline six!

Re: More power
You might want to go here. http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/...=393457&page=1 these guys have a lot of knowledge behind the 6's. Be prepared to spend 1.5 to 2 X's as much on a 6 as a small block to attain the same power levels. Not saying it can't be done, you just need a pension for uniqueness.

Re: More power
Are you wanting to keep the I6 or go V8? Will you be working with a tight budget?
One thing I did to my first I6 was to check the throttle linkage. It took a little adjustment because the throttle wasnt opening all the way. Once that was fixed it had a little more acceleration, but wasnt a killer change.

Re: More power
cam, intake, and header. These are readily available for a 250 if you look for them.

Re: More power
If you can find a 194 6 banger in a junkyard out of a early 60's Chevy II you can put that head on a 250 and bump the compression ratio up from 8 : 1 to a little over 9 : 1. You can usually pick them up dirt cheap, so its cheap HP.
Crower makes a great line of performance cams for these engines that cost around $160.

Re: More power
x2... Swaping to HEI should be the first thing you do. You might not notice any power gains but your engine will be much more reliable. Plus its supper easy and relatively cheap.

Re: More power
First, runa compression check on the engine. There's not much sense in doing anything else until you know the rings valves and such are good. It's as important that the cyls read even as well as that they have enough compression.
Check prices on 6 cyl performance parts. You will find new ones pricey as stated above. You wont get the performance from the 6 that you will from a stock 350 so if you spend the $$$ to build the 6,you will not get it back.If you build the 6 from the ground up you can get great power from it but it may not be very streetable.Read thru some of the 6 cyl threads and decide how far you want to go.Just remember that "Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go?"

Re: More power
^ +1 on Clifford. Throw a good intake, good exhaust, and decent carb on it, and you should be fine. The better question is, how much power do you want?

Re: More power
Bump up the compression. Big cam. The heads need extensive porting.
2JZ swap
