Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I am meeting a forum member friend of mine on Sat 2/22 to get my wood floor cross sills, trunions, hinges, tail light stuff etc. All I need now is bumper brackets and splash shields (behind the rear tires) and I'll have the completed bed for mock up.

Let me know what you still need and I'll keep my eyes open for you.

I think all I need is front and rear bumpers (rear brackets). If I can't find some really nice ones I'll probably get some from GMCPauls or somewhere like that.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

The little things can be troublesome and get overlooked easily. I went to put my park light lenses in the grill, of course I didn't have the right screws. So started putting headlights in, of course one of the retaining rings had two of the tabs broke off. I couldn't find the latch that bolts to the hood (already painted and ready to install) On the bright side the elec. fans worked good and got some of the bed painted....

Looks great from where I'm sitting. I'm not looking forward to all the little frustrations of final assembly, but when I'm to that point I'll be a happy camper.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Another weekend update, got both bedsides and tailgate sprayed this morning. My buddy will let them cure a couple days then wet sand and buff. Hopefully all the paint work is done now. I'll post some pics in a little while.
