I've never used it myself, but for the amount of money it costs, this MUST be the best was. Ever. Period. http://www.zymol.com/zymolroyaleglaze44oz.aspx

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

I side zymol once and didn't like it. Got it at auto zone so I don't know if it's different than what's on their sight.

I've tried just about everything but Zaino which I've heard nothing but great things. Too impatient to order it.

My favorite, which technically I guess is not a wax, is Wax Shop Super Glaze. It does have carnauba in it though. Goes on easy, looks great but doesn't last too long. I can't seem to find it anymore. Not sure if they are still around.

Last few years I've used meguiar's nxt on my. Mustang and really like it. I use Beats Em All on my Tahoe and boat.

It's well over a year since I posted on this thread last. Back to Meguiar's. Clay bar, cleaner wax, then #26. Always the combo I come back to.

The link I posted goes to one of their products that has a price tag of $8500 on it. For a can of car wax. Although, it says they'll refill it free for life.

I use a similar combo. I use a lot of scratch remover too, because I have some cats that always find a way to run across my vehicle on the rare occasions that it has the car cover off and isn't in the garage. Plus, the scratches that appear around the door handles and the worst offender, around the snaps on the tonneau cover. Lately, when I use the scratch remover, I mix it with liquid cleaner wax, and I've had wonderful results doing that. When I've not needed the scratch remover, I had been using a Zymol product, but I can't find that particular one any more.

For the final wax, I used to use a Carnuba that was from Eagle One. It was a hard carnuba, like candle wax hard, until a little heat was applied to it just from rubbing the applicator on it. Went on easy, came off easy, and it lasted great!

I've been looking for a similar hard carnuba wax to replace it, but I've not found one. Is the Meguiar's #26 that type of wax?

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

About 4 years ago I switched to Adams and they are by far the best products I have ever used. I have spent ridiculous amounts of money building my colleciton.

There Americana paste wax is amazing, so easy to put on, and so easy to take off. And boy does it shine.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

Consumer Reports rated Nu-Finish paste as tops a few years ago. It is cheap so it is what I use on my daily drivers. I do know it lasts for a long time.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

So waxes are like.....well...everyone has one they like...all work close to the same. I've tried them all (on our last move I got rid of 78 different waxes). I use to run a detailing business so I'd have guys send me samples of pretty much anything I wanted. From unreleased meguiars stuff, to test of those ultra rare $500+ waxes.

My go to wax is P21S/S100. But what I also always remind people is that it really depends on many factors to determine what works best. What color is the car, does it have a metallic in it? Does the car stay in the garage, or outside? Is it driven daily or a weekend toy? All of these things play into the proper "perfect" wax.

For my truck I use Adam's Buttery Car Wax. It's easy to apply and the shine lasts long.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

My feeling is for the most part waxes are very similar. Its hard to judge how long a wax last unless ud have some kinda test with exact same variables (weather, dirt, rain, washes) the main thing for me from a good wax to bad is how easy it goes on and off. My favorite right now is Pinnacle souvearn and poorboys. Both go on and off super easy. The other main point is like others have said, surface prep makes biggest difference

None of them! Oh wait, all of them! Yeah that's it.
Except the pledge comment, I'm not sure about that. Seems like everything would stick to that.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

Wow, I'm behind times I guess, after reading thru these posts. I saw one saying ICE is crap. I picked up this truck awhile back. Cleaned it with dawn, then a clay bar. Then hit it with ICE polish. Then a coat of the ICE wax. I liked that it didn't leave the white residue everywhere. With the residue, I'd have to break out little brushes and such to get rid of that stuff. Only thing I've noticed, is that it hasn't lasted that long. 3 months later, and it's time for another coat. Some may think this funny, but I break out the leaf blower to dry it. The water would blow off easily. Now, it's taking longer to get it off. I can't stand swirl marks, from using a shammy, plus it gets out water from everywhere. Just a trick from back in my bike days. I used pledge, sometimes for a quick detail on the bike. Just the no scent kind tho. I had heard the bees like the lemon stuff, lol! I'm a neat freak when it comes to a vehicle, but from these posts, it sounds like it's time for a change. We have a paint supply place here that sells Wizards products, so I'll be getting some this week. These pics are before and after using ICE. Loved the ear wax comments btw, lol

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

This might be an old thread but I have been detailing for over twenty years. I have not experienced a better carnauba wax. P21s wax has been voted #1 by Guru reports and was chosen to be editors choice and outperformed 44 other waxes that were put to the test. P21s will not damage your black moldings like other waxes. I have gotten 17 uses out of a 6.2 oz container. It's worth the money

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

I have MEGUIAR’S G17516 ULTIMATE QUIK CAR WAX . Meguiar’s is a well-known name in car care industry and their products are among the best. This one is interesting and very affordable car wax in spray form which is very easy and quick to use.

You just spray this on your clean car and follow the regular waxing instructions and you should get a mirror finish in no time. Hydrophobic polymer technology provides relentless water beading protection that lasts for weeks. It will not leave a white wax residue on exterior plastic and trim pieces of your car.

The spray bottle makes it very practical for using and it is also easy to transport. For the cheap price, you will get a decent amount of wax spray and it should last you a couple of moths of intensive use.

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

im not old just HIGH MILES lol.
i do professional detailing.
if you wanna get your truck poppin', get it COLOR SANDED, then BUFFED with 3M SUPER DUTY RUBBING COMPOUND (wool pad), then 3M step A (wool pad) then go for the kill with 3M step B machine polish (waffle pad), then i like to go over it with good old TURTLE WAX.

hope this helped

Re: Whats The Best Wax Really?

Klasse AIO followed by a coat of Collonite 845 is the latest & best I've tried. I was using Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax before, and it's pretty good. I do have a can of Pinnacle Souveran I've yet to try. The attached pic of the GMC is Klasse AIO w/Collinite on top. The wagon is the Meguiars Ultimate.

The 845 goes on very easy (apply very thin!) and wiped off very nicely. Great stuff.
