sm465 trans mount?

Hello

I need a new trans mount for my sm465. Rockauto had two listed both with the Part #A2392. Same with Advance and AutoZone. But it doesn't fit. Does anybody know the part # for the right one?

I'm usually pretty good at tracking down parts for folks, but I got nothing to go on as far as what truck you have. Year, model, drivetrain etc...

I only see one available for an '87 R20 with a SM465

Napa: 6201107

This one is for an older 2wd with an automatic. Is this the one they keep giving you in error?

This one is for a 4x4

Re: sm465 trans mount?

The 1st picture looks like the first one I got. The bolt holes are the right width apart. But it doesn't line up with the crossmember.

The 2nd picture looks like the last one I got. The bolt holes are to far apart. But everything else seems to line up. I was thinking about drilling the holes a little closer to make it fit.

The original one fits perfect. Wish I could find a part number on it.

Can you post a few pictures of the one you need as well as the bottom of the trans where it bolts? Something odd is going on here

Sure, but it'd be tomorrow. It's to dark out at the shop to take pictures right now.

Re: sm465 trans mount?

From the picture it looks like the bottom one of the three would work. Will it at least bolt to the transmission? If it does, maybe you just need to loosen the crossmember and see if you can jockey it around enough for the mount stud to pop in to the crossmember.

If that doesn’t work you might just need to find a mount that bolts to the trans and redrill holes in the crossmember to make it work. Very weird…I’ve never heard of any oddball problems with mounts when it comes to 73-91 square parts.

Looks like you got your money’s worth out of the original mount

Re: sm465 trans mount?

Third times a charm I guess. Found one at Autozone that was the same as my old one.
