3970010 casting #

I have a 66 c10 and the casting number on the engine block is 3970010. What engine is this?

To find out what that engine was in, try to get the numbers off the pad that is on the front of the block by the passengers side head.

3970010 is MOST likely a 4 bolt main block. Everyone I have seen was. Supposedly cast in a 2 bolt version also, but I have never seen one.

I have a 3970010 2-bolt block. The 2-bolts are actually pretty common.

This is what I come up with for 3970010.

3970010 = 302, 4 bolt, 1969
3970010 = 327, 2 bolt, 1969
3970010 = 350, 2 or 4 bolt, 1969-1980

So good chance it's a 350 but you'll need more investigation for a true answer.

Well I have got the engine on a stand and took off the oil pan. 2 bolt main and a 3.25 stroke. So it looks like a 327!!!! Thanks for all the help!!
