'67 Stepside Front Lowering ??

My '67 currently has Porterbuilt Stage 1 & Stage 2 bags etc. installed and I want to go static in the front. Can I lower the front 6 or 7 in. without major problems like A-arms to low or inner fender rubbing. You have to use stock headers don't you?

From what I've seen 5.5" is as low as you can go and not have any issues. Tire size should also be taken into consideration.
