Thanks Buddy, yes! I would add a white top, it will look fantastic and complete the look!!!
But, to tell you the truth as much I love 63' grills, it would be hard for me to tamper with that stock beauty....... I would probably "try" to wait about 6 months then change it.

Man, you weren't kidding when you said that the '65 was nice! That is an amazing truck.

Love the Nova, too. I was heavy into the '66-'67 Novas at one time, and I had a '67 Nova SS in Grenada Gold that reminds me of yours. Those are great little cars, and I love what you did to yours. A light little Nova with a blown LS has got to be a rocketship.

The Nova is like a Racing GO Kart. It was Grenada Gold when I got it but, I had it redone in sierra fawn. It's close though….. I will say the old truck vibe is gett'n good to me. I have been kicking around the idea of a LS swap but, for some reason I just can't pull the trigger on a LS in the 65. I know that the LS is THE way to go. Im kinda thinking a freshen up for the 283 or maybe a BIGBLOCK. LOL… The 283 does run like a top (except for the 2 barrel that needs trashed) maybe a small TBI EFI and a six speed. Heck….. I don't know. As far as cutting it up goes. I have to do something about the brakes and gas tank. Where I live we have way to much traffic for the no power drum brakes. I"ll be straight'n in out if I don't cut it up. Thanks guys...

Re: 65 Big Window Build / Retro Mod …...

Very nice truck and the nova too.

I would lean to the restomod style you mentioned. From the pictures, it looks like it was restored externally at least in the past. I don't think original paint could shine like that..

Just detail under hood and chassis to the hilt and drive it!

Re: 65 Big Window Build / Retro Mod …...

I have been hard at work on the truck. Cab is off along with the bed and frame. All new CPP stuff is either on the frame or on my shelf (I ordered it a long time ago ) I went with a complete tubular frame kit with big brakes from the guys at CPP. New GMPP E-ROD LS3 with 4l65e should be here any day. I am soliciting some paint advise from you guys. While removing the gas tank brackets from the back of the cab I drilled out one of the spot welds a little to deep and cut a hole in the cab. So......I figured we might as well paint the whole truck. It has been painted once before by PO scuffing the lacquer and spraying a very thin fresh coat of blue with about 4 gallons of clear on top of the blue. The truck would shine but, it had a bunch of runs in the clear. The floor pan had a hole where the original PO had installed what looks like a C.B. cable and I welded it up. I am torn between the factory blue with a white top or a complete color change. I would like to keep the factory C10 vibe but, I really like the colors that you just don't see every day. What do you guys think? Sorry for no update pics of the build. My photo bucket account id screwed up right now. I will try again later today. Not my to show just a nice black frame with new parts.

Re: 65 Big Window Build / Retro Mod …...

Blue......Uh.....Well...I do too but, some how the truck has ended up RED. Go figure. Sometimes I kinda let things get away from me. The bed has been painted and the cab / front end are getting close. Frame is done (with new Erod LS3) and CPP sup upgrades. I hope to get some pics up soon but, with the holidays and two teenage boys try to hunt everything that moves I am kind of busy. Stay tuned.

Loved the blue, but that red looks good too!

What all did you do to the chassis when you put it back together?

Just a static drop (5/7) with all new CPP stuff and 13" brakes. I used their LS Swap stuff as well. We should have the body on the frame by spring time (I hope)
