my 1966 gmc suburban build

Started it 4 weeks ago got the bottom cleaned and painted. got a rebuilt 1970 396 bbc got it painted .got the fire wall and inter fenders painted. going to install the eingine this week end. I need a female striker for the rear lift gate if any body has one let me know thanks larry.I would like to post some photos but dont know how.

What are you gonna do about the rear? Are you gonna drop it? If so, how? How low you going? Any info would be great

A long water pump on a big block isn't going to leave much room for an electric fan on the radiator. Unless you are leaving the engine in the original location and cutting the firewall.

Going to use 2'' longer shakels on the rear and 21/2'' drop spindles in the front. Just have to see what that looks like

Yeah it does fit. What motor mounts did you use? Mine is a little farther forward and with a short pump has a little more clearance to my electric fans.

I used the sbc mounts installed them under the top edge of the frame and then added 2x2 box tubing 3/4'' hi to the top. I moved them back 11/2''

Ok i got some more work done on the suburban trany in A/C is in drop spindle are done whit disc brakes and power steering installed. here some more photos.I need plug for the hole where the barn doors mounted if anybody know where i can find some. thank larry
