Frame questions?

Are the 73-87 frames interchangable?

What does it take to convert a 4wd frame to 2wd?

Is it hard to turn a LWB frame into a SWB?

If anyone could link a thread with any of this for me to read would be cool.
I have a 83 swb stepside off getting an engine and trans put in it. Guy is taking forever and can't get to hurry up any. Looking for a donor truck to start my porter built suspesion and frame restoration on. Possibly giving the leftover truck to my son afterwards.

Re: Frame questions?

Yes the 73-87 10 series frames are interchangeable. There are a few holes that are not the same from C frames to K frames, but they can be added. There is a great thread in our FAQ forum on how to properly cut and splice a long to short frame.
