Rear Shocks intall
Good day fellow 67-72 C10 enthusiasts. Does anyone know where I may find a video of how to remove and install new shocks on my 71 C10. I want to try and do this on my own instead of paying a garage. Thank-you in advance

Re: Rear Shocks intall
Nothing to it. Jack rear end up and put a jack stand under the frame rails in the back. Not the rear end but frame. Then while you still have the jack up on the rear end take the top nuts loose and knock the bolt out of the hanger. Take the lower nuts off and knock them out. Reinstall as you take each one off. Done, letter back down on the ground and it ready to roll.

Re: Rear Shocks intall
Thank you Andy4639. I did jack up but put jack stands under axle. I'm guessing thats not a good place?? You mentioned on frame. Sorry newbie at this. Should I also take off rear wheels?
Thanks Zibs71 |

Re: Rear Shocks intall
You can do it under the rear end but the shocks will push the body and frame on up. When you put them under the frame you have the weight to keep them in place and use the jack to help you remove them if it needs to come down a little are go up some. Taking the wheels off want help a lot but may could depending on how you work.

Thanks again for your help. I will move them to frame and give it a go.
