C Notch Templates....

how you guys doing? I was wondering if there is any threads on making the c notch's to bag a 65 c10 step side... for the fellas that have bagged their own pick ups, (65 steppers) how did you guys get the measurements... thanks for the tips in advance.. (pictures would be great, I am a visual learner)

im using a 2x6 1/4 thick 10 ft rectangular metal. if it helps any way shape or form.. thanks again.

Sounds like you are doing a step notch (through the bed) vs. A "C" notch which is normally a 5 1/2 x 1/4 wall pipe cut in half to make the C. Mark the frame at flush with the C at the bottom, cut and weld in the C.

If its a step notch, maybe someone has some pdf templates to cut plate from?

yes sir, it is a step notch.. that would be helpful. trying to get a 9" drop on it... im cutting out some templates, I will post them up, hopefully I can get a green light on them, or some expert advise.

will those 90 degree cut (on left and right pieces) affect anything? again if I can get the "green light" on them, im gonna weld and install, but I would like to see or hear some expert or seasoned advise... thanks gain fellas

When looking down on the frame, the top rail has a curve to it , a mild "S" and the iner vs outer step sides may differ is my only thought. Check the suspension forum or bagged trucks thread and click on individual members pages to inspect their builds to see what they may have done. Most buy them, but I respect your desire to build them. I built my C also.
