Drop spindles

Looking to buy some drop spindles for my 87 r10, who makes the best? I apparently ordered the worst and just sent them back because they didnt allow reinstallation of the brakes. So what's y'all's opinions?

Re: Drop spindles

Belltech, DJM, or Western are all proven brands. I've installed multiple sets of each on square body trucks with good success.

Just FYI, the CPP spindles are just reboxed Western spindles.

Shop Summit Racing for competitive prices. They will offer free shipping on whatever brand you choose. That's a big bonus since spindles are so damn heavy, shipping costs really add onto the bottom line if you have to pay for it.

Re: Drop spindles

I just returned a set of DJMs. They were either defective or for the wrong year C10, so after dealing with them and their not so good customer service about them, I will not buy any thing else from them. But I really didn't think about summit racing. I live about an hour or so from one. Thanks.

Re: Drop spindles

That's weird. I have DJM three inch drop spindles under my current daily driver truck. The only issue I had with them was having to run a sander over a casting line to allow the wheel to clear when I spin it.

Re: Drop spindles

The calipers on mine wouldn't bolt on, even after some massaging them with a grinder. Then once we got the calipers to slide in the rotors covered half the slide bolt holes

Re: Drop spindles

There are two different spindles available for the 81-87 trucks.
1" rotor width,... or 1.25" rotor width.
You have to order the correct version.

Re: Drop spindles

I did. I ordered them for the 1" rotor that I have. I think they might have been for an older c10.

Did you buy them off of ebay?
Seem like another member got a set of S10 spindles instead of C10 spindles.
