Frame Color
A street rod builder told me he paints is frames a dark charcoal color with a real bright metallic in it (if the customer hasn't spec'd body color etc.) instead of black because it doesn't show the dust like black. I wiped one of the frames that looked clean with my finger and was surprised how dusty it really was.
The sparkle of the bright metallic keeps the paint from looking dull with a light coat of dust. Metallic added to black would work to but not as well because the black contrasts the dust more than the charcoal color. Just thought I would share this one

Re: Frame Color
That is interesting... I was thinking about doing a hammer tone black and grey on mine... figured this would hide dust and imperfections...

Re: Frame Color
I used Hammerite silver hammertone on my frame and really like it. Thinned it with lacquer thinner and brushed it on. Laid out nicely and covered well. They have spray cans that I bought as well for some of the hard to reach places. I have not driven the truck much, and it is currently not driveable, but i think it will hide dirt well. All the parts that hang off the frame (control arms, springs, etc) are painted semi-gloss black.

Re: Frame Color
I found the Hammerite at a local hardware store called Elliott's Hardware in Mesquite, TX. There's one in Plano, and one in Dallas as well, but I've never been to those. It's a very well stocked hardware store. Here's some pics of during and after.
