How to determine transmission model for 1971 c10?
Hello,
I performed some internet searches and couldn't figure out how to determine which transmission model I have. I'm just curious. I have a 1971 chevy c10 custom (lwb) with a straight six 250ci (4.1l) and three on the tree manual. Thanks! |

It should be a Saginaw three speed then.

Interesting rebuild video (sped up): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgNDhmN9BFg
What about gear ratios? I might want to buy a rebuilt model, or buy a used one and rebuild it myself. Seems like I need the gear ratios to do that. |

Rockauto shows the rebuild kit to be a Timken TRK301. You can find that part number through several online vendors.
