Re: Rear gear set ?

You do realize that you will have to change the carrier also when changing from 3.73's to 3.42's?

There are many sources for differential gears.

Re: Rear gear set ?

I may have a carrier. I took it out of a pickup but don't know what it was.

Re: Rear gear set ?

The 3.73's are the highest gear that will work on a 4 sreies carrier. The next step up is the 3.42 gear which you will need a 3 series carrier for.

lets check on torque,

3. Engine ?

2. tire diameter from ground to top of tire

3. transmission final drive

we know your rear axle ratio I will run a custom spreadsheet for you and besides looking at speed and rpm we will also look at how much torque you have now and how much torque you will have with the changes....you want to make......before you make them......Kieth
