Best 2.5 in lift for K20 Carryall

Been out of the 4x4 truck scene for over 10 years now and it seems much has changed. It seems my 73-75 trucks are classics now and my 72 burb is vintage (read parts harder to find).

Used to see leaf spring lift kits for sale all over the place now its hard to find any pre 73 kits. Does Rancho even make leaf spring kits anymore? Cant seem to find anything other than a 4 in kit from Rough Country. Tuff Country has an ez ride and a HD kit in 2.5, do I need the HD kit since its going on a heavy burb that will do regular towing duty?

Anyone have any pics of a burb on 2.5 springs?

Here is a few pics of mine

Re: Best 2.5 in lift for K20 Carryall

Welcome to the forum!
I run a 2.5 lift on my 1968 K20 Suburban, but my lift is totally home built.
My springs are the original OE springs, that I had re arched back in the 1990's.

There are a few spring kits out there for you to shop, since your model year has a more popular measurement.

To me the Suburban's weight, and length really soften up even the more stiffer suspensions. So I think you would be happy with most if not all of the options available to you in a 2.5 lift, then the shock absorbers come into play more so on the burb than a short bed PU.
Right now I run a soft ride shock absorber, much like a Rancho RS5000 I just can't remember the brand at this moment. But I am contemplating a more stiffer shock absorber, most likely the Bilstein 5100 series to stiffen up the body roll.

I know in my case I had to rebuild the front drive shaft when I did my modest lift, so pay attention to the front drive shaft when you do your suspension.

Here is a pic of my Suburban.

Thanks for the reply, beautiful sub! What size rim and tire you running?

What other companies beside Tuff Country offer 2.5 lifts?

I didnt know there was a difference in springs in 67-72 trucks. If I find a used set what do I have to look for?
