1979 camaro gas tank
I have access to a1979 camaro gas tank. Has anyone ever tried one of these into a 68 swb?

Yeah I have seen countless posts on these and if this doesn't work out then I will buy a 69 camaro tank. I was just hoping that someone would pipe up and say yeah I've done it and it works great before I pull the one out of the camaro. The tank isn't exactly the same but it's similar. IMO the camaro tank install is a lot simpler than the blazer tank, i'm going to sell mine. |

I've never tried too install a 70's camaro gas tank in a truck but i've had a few of them layin around and this is what i noticed about the differnt years.
camaro tanks from 67-73 were flat on the top. I'm pretty sure from 74 on up they had a bump up on top of the tank(so they are actually taller) on the pass side than the driver side. this would make it hang lower than the early style tank in these trucks I think the bump up was too create a spare tire well in that tiny hole they call the trunk and still keep some gas capacity in the tank. anything is possible though
