Re: 15 x 8 4x4 steel wheel no slots

I believe they came on Blazers, mid 70's - 80's. I do think they are common on the military blazers. They are a very popular wheel right now.

Re: 15 x 8 4x4 steel wheel no slots

Recommend post a WTB of exactly what you're looking for on the parts section and someone might be able to help you out. That's the best way to find these things. Also, you can look at old junkyards and you'd be surprised what you'll find. Then again, I'm kinda spoiled out here in the desert...

I have two sitting in my office, but I want two more to match them.

I believe these are 15x8's, it will show you what they look like with the stainless covers.

Re: 15 x 8 4x4 steel wheel no slots

I have one. I'll get you some pics of it tomorrow. The military ones do have slots. I bought a set of 4 and I didn't realize that one of them had no slots when I bought them. I found an extra one with slots to complete my set, so I ended up with this one no slot wheel that I have no use for.

Re: 15 x 8 4x4 steel wheel no slots

Here's my '70 SWB with 6-lug 15X8 wheels. I'm not too far from you either. Just down the NYS Thruway. Just sold some 3-nub 15X8's that were for drum brakes. Wouldn't work on disc brake trucks. If you have disc brakes, you'll need the newer 4-nub 71-87 15X8 steelies. These also came on 84-86 CUCV military blazers. I just bought 2-sets of 4 wheels at spring Carlisle. They are hard to find and demand a pretty penny these days. Good luck. I'll keep my eyes/hears open for you.

Not trying to hijack… Just trying to learn something here. I see you have a CUCV M1009. I didn't realize the military blazer wheels had slots. I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the different military wheels and what you're referring to. I just bought some military blazer wheels and don't recall any slots. Thanks.

The only wheels with no slots I know of are smoothies. You can buy them new in primed.primed center/chrome rim,and all chrome. The accept a few special caps using inner nubs, like Vette rallye wheels do. It's the Kelsey Hayes/OEM style that you have to find used

These wheels are not being reproduced by anyone. The $68 are called the smoothies. They have no nubs to pop the dog dish caps on. The 5 lug are being reproduced but not 6 lug.

They have the 4 nubs and small slots around the perimeter. They do have the slots like Rally wheels have, if that is what you are thinking.
The 3 nub drum brake wheels have no slots at all.

These are CUCV wheels:

OK now I see what you are referring to as slots. I'll agree with you on this. My CUCV wheels are the same. However they do NOT have the slots like rally wheels have. Also, the 3-nub drum brake wheels DO have slots. You can see pictures of my 3-nub drum wheels which have slots, and also pictures of rally wheels that I had powder coated hugger orange body color. Those slots are different.

Some do, some don't. I have one that has no slots at all.

BTW, I'm pretty sure those wheels you have are aftermarket or modified factory wheels. I've never seen a factory wheel that has the outer ring shaped like that. They also seem deeper/different offset that factory 8" steelies.

They are not aftermarket or modified. There is no outer ring. It just looks like that from the picture. Look at the last picture of your CUCV wheel. It looks like it has an outer ring too.

I'm talking about the outer ring of the wheel itself. That wheel is shaped unlike any 15X8 factory steelie I've ever seen. It also looks deeper than any of them as well. Compare your wheel to any wheel on this thread, and you will see what I mean. Your's have a angle wheel it steps down to the diameter that the center of the wheel welds on, but most have a radiused step instead of the angle. They may have been factory, but they are very unusual if they are, and I've never seen any like them. I've looked at lot of these wheels over the years, and those are the only ones I've seen like that.

The hubcaps set deeper in the wheel on your's than the others on this thread:

Compared to:

I'm not knocking them, they are very good looking wheel, they are just different than any I've seen. I'd love to have those wheels!

Yes, 4 mounting nubs means they'll clear disc brakes.
