What do you think about Borla ProXS Mufflers

Trying to decided on what mufflers to get. I have a 383 strocker, built for low end. I want to be able to listen to the radio when cruising but want a nice sound when I get on it, but nothing obnoxious.

I have SS BORLA mufflers on my Blazer / mild 350 build. They meet my expectations as high end muffler, sound, wear. But, I run SS Borla tips / not tubes. The tips give it a more snappy sound and around 3500 rpm, hard acceleration, they can wake up a neighborhood. If you looking for a rumble, go with tubes at the end.

Re: What do you think about Borla ProXS Mufflers

I've been listening to tons of sound clips for all different mufflers, but it's hard to get a really good feel for what they sound like from a sound clip.

At this point I'm thinking either SS Borlas or SS Magnaflows, 2.5" tubes with an H pipe, coming out behind the rear tires.

This will be going on a 383 built for low end torque 1500 to 5500 rpm range.

H-pipe you will loose some low end torque. I would not recommend that for a 4x4. 2WD high flowing motor - yeah. Do some research for better understanding of that issue.

These are the mufflers I chose, but unfortunately they are not installed. I got them because I wanted something different. I seem to remember that they had a tighter, more "tuned" sound to them, but I could be crazy.

I'm running a Magnaflow 2.5 SS with "X" pipe system which is great for highway driving, but sounds good when you stick your foot in it. You can see some pics on my build thread. Link in my signature.
