I finally got my cab and doors back from the media blaster! They're in really great shape. It looks like the cab corners will need to be replaced and maybe one rocker, but everything else is solid. It's at the body shop now and hopefully won't be there too long. Got my headers dropped off the other day as well, they look really good! I also finally picked up a little welder, can't wait to try it out.

I also brought my chassis to a little car show at my local church yesterday. Had a pretty good turn out of about 100 cars of all makes and models. A lot of people were really interested in the chassis, not many people slam their vehicles up here in the Northeast so they were really curious as to how I would drive it that low lol It was definitely a lot of fun!

What kind of coating did you do on the headers? Didn't know if powder coat would hold up to that kind of temps? They do look good!

Thanks! They're just painted black right now. Not sure if powder coat would hold up. You can order headers ceramic coated black and they will look pretty close to the same as how they do when their painted black.

Well, still not much progress to report. The cab and doors are getting worked on at the body shop and I should have some pics soon of how that's coming along. I was able to get started with drive shaft and have the first piece of the 2-piece drive shaft made up. The 2nd half should be done by the end of the week. I started welding up the holes in the frame so it doesn't look like swiss cheese, but I'm going to hold off on the rest until I disassemble the frame again, it'll be much easier that way. I also ordered up my one piece window kit along with a few other parts for the doors like the solenoids, locks and power regulators. It looks like the power regulators are on back order so they won't be in for a month or so.

I've also been reconsidering my color choice for the truck...I've been seeing so many trucks a lot of shades of blue recently. Blue look really good on C10's but I'm looking at another option now. I'd love to hear your opinions!

I say if you have your heart set on Blue don't let the numerous other blue trucks deter you. I'm painting mine Red and you know that everybody and their mother seems to have a Red 67-72 on a side note, I do like the white rendering a lot too. Your frame is looking good and so is the drive shaft.

Looking great Rick! Every part you are using on this build is top notch. I really like the two toned paint with the blue. Gives it a classic/original look.

Thanks! I do like the blue, but my second color choice would definitely be white. My old truck was white and my other car now is white, so I definitely would be happy with white as well. It's just 2 very different styles.

Thanks Jeremy! I do like the blue two-toned paint for that reason, it really pulls in that classic look. The white color scheme really changes the style a lot. It's a tough call.

Well I got the rest of my driveshaft installed the other day. I was a little nervous at first going into this part since I didn't know a lot about driveshafts and I didn't want to mess it up, but after a lot of measuring and more measuring and measuring again, it all fits perfectly! The driveshaft shop was great in helping me get the right measurements and making sure we had what we needed to get it done. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I also got my one piece window kit from OPP vendor Captkaos. Chris was very responsive to all of my emails and great to work with. The only thing I have to wait for now is my power window regulators since they are back ordered for a couple more weeks.

In other news...my wife and I may be moving out to the Columbus, Ohio area in the next couple months. If that's the case, the truck is unfortunately going to be put on hold for a bit since we'll be buying a house when we move out there. I may have to keep the truck here in Maine for a while until I get a space to work on it in Ohio. I'll keep you all posted...

Well, small update on the progress of the truck, big update on life. The body works been moving along slow, but the funds really aren't there for it, so it's ok that it's going at slower pace.

The big update is that we found out the first week of August that my wife got the job out in Ohio! So we are moving out to Columbus, OH, the first week of October. We are actually in the process of buying our first house, so we're putting everything towards that right now. My truck will stay in Maine until next spring and then we'll tow it out to Ohio. I'm going to have to find a body shop in the Columbus area, so if anyone has any recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated!

hey rick, nice build so far man like it! love the wheels looking good. good luck with the move man. i noticed something in your earlier pages of this build. now i may be wrong, but it looks like you have the front tubular crossmember in the wrong spot. what u have to do is drill out the oem rivets holding the rad support mounts and bolt the crossmember through those four holes on each side. thats what i did on mine. maybe u just threw it in the frame earlier for mock up sake not sure. just trying to help.. i will keep my eye on this sweet build
