Take her to a real nice eatery when you tell her about her new truck.

Re: Trying to work a deal on this...
Going to give it a good look over tonight. If it's reasonably road worthy I'll buy it. I don't have the time or money for another non-op project.

Re: Trying to work a deal on this...
That's a $1500 truck sitting under $5,000.00 worth of repairs - AKA "a camper".

Re: Trying to work a deal on this...
I agree. I'm going to try to get it for a grand or less if it's even worth bringing home. If the whole thing is nothing but rot then I'll pass on it.

Re: Trying to work a deal on this...
$1000 bought it. As for the truck, no rust in the floors or rockers. Cab corners are solid, with a small spot of rust through on the passenger side. Owner said its a 350, SPID says 327. I'll have to verify which it is. Started right up with a jump. 4sp manual, moved in every gear and reverse. It even has a dash pad which is in perfect condition.
As for the living quarters...it could go either way. Would need the roof sealed and some new panels inside as well as a couple pieces of glass replaced in the windows. Owner says water heater, fridge, pump, and furnace all work, but it hasn't been used in some time. It wouldn't take a lot to make it livable other than some time. Or, I could scrap the box and go another direction. Car hauler maybe, or mount a slide in truck camper with storage along the sides to fill the gaps, and put a small flatbed on the back for hauling toys. But the truck is solid. Batteries and tires and it's ready to work.
