Re: redhead steering gears.... yay or nay?

Yay all the way. Last summer I called them about a manual box for my 67 c10. The guy said hold on and let me check, a few moments he returned and said they could ship it out that same afternoon. A couple days later I installed the box, perfect fit and finish. I found a leak and called to speak with them. They were very helpful and explained the box may have turn upside down in shipping. They said drive around for a couple weeks as this truck is not my DD. turns out the box was defective. They apologized and sent out a replacement and paid shipping. They took responsibility and made good on their work. Hard to find these days. If I did it again, I would send them my box and have it rebuilt and have custom colors. No problems with the box since and the steering is super tight!

I have one in my truck. Its a power steering one. It works great and they are a good company to deal with in my experience. Hope that helps.

I've been to there shop and they all real nice/great guys. I have a cpp quick ratio in my truck I'm building, I have no faith in cpp so when the time comes ill replace it with a redhead box.

Re: redhead steering gears.... yay or nay?

After having one on my C10 for three years now I would never use a another dorman (supplier or rebuilt steering boxes to almost all after market auto parts stores) box again.

Re: redhead steering gears.... yay or nay?

Yay, yay,and yay. Wes sold me, and installed quick raito redhead box in my K5. My wife had to drive the blazer to work last week while the wrangler was being worked on. She said the 42 year old blazer tracked, and steered better than the jeep. For a girl who grew up driving accords and civics, that thought my 91 legend was a big car that's quite an endorcement!
