Help with steering auto steering column

Working on adjusting an automatic steering column shifter linkage and ran into a problem?

The outermost cup of the column is able rotate about a 1/4 of an inch throwing off the alignment / position of shift indicator marks.
Is there a way to tighten the outer cup?

Very frustrating to spend time adjusting and tweaking the linkage and then not have the pointer aligned with the display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with steering auto steering column

Get the linkage adjusted properly & loosen the mast jacket & turn it to line up the pointer. If you have excessive play, your linkage has worn bushings or the shift tube is worn.
