Hole in Firewall for Clutch Linkage

For those with an automatic in your truck, how was the hole in the firewall where the clutch linkage goes through filled? I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve welding and can't located a grommet with a 1-7/8 inner diameter. I'm leaning towards cutting an over-sized sheet metal circle, adding a ribbon of insulation, and screwing in place, but would like a prettier solution.

Make your patch, paint it and glue it down. You could get away with using a high strength RTV or seam sealer on something like that if you don't have panel adhe$ive around. Even some double-sided tape for car molding would hold it.

good solution on the homedepot plug, i did find the oem "carplug" plastic cover from 4-5-6chevy trucks. paid $15 if you want original...

Thanks for the responses. Purchased the $1 Home Depot electrical box plug yesterday and it went in without a hitch. Some seam sealer plus paint and I can cross this one off the list.
