Slotted Wheels! What do you think?

Just finished 1 wheel and put it on to see how it looked. Think I'll do the rest of them now. Not too bad for being really old!

Good lookin! Slots used to be like belly buttons. Everybody had em. For some reason some people think they went out of style, but to me a 73-87 still looks good on slots!

Yup. With the technology to make all of these silly tennis shoe lookin' wheels, I don't understand why we can't get a set of slots in any size other than 15". If you could, there would be a set on my crew post haste.

Man, I miss this truck.

Re: Slotted Wheels! What do you think?

I keep getting an error message when I try to look at the wheels themselves. The description says 4 lug. The regular Indy wheels is only 15".

I have Ridlers on the truck now that have about 75 feet of distance on them. I would pull them and sell them in a heartbeat if the US Mags were reasonably priced.

Re: Slotted Wheels! What do you think?

My wife (then girlfriend) got these for me for birthday present. I had always liked them and I knew someone who was selling a set for 100.00. She ended up getting them and I had them in my garage for over 20 years. Never thought I would use them but couldn't get rid of them. Then I started redoing my truck again and wanted new wheels. Nothing out there now looks good to me. The I remembered these. I didn't want the hassle of polishing aluminum all the time. Bad enough with a polished plane I restored years ago. So I blasted them and painted them silver. I painted the insides of the slots green to match the truck. They aren't perfect as the beads are pretty banged up from wheeling years ago. But for what I have into them. I couldn't even buy 1 new wheel. Plus I love the old school look. My nephews and there friends think I super old for having them and make fun of me for not having a diesel!

Those Starsky slots look cool. There's an early square in my town with them on it. Looks totally 1970s. GTT

Re: Slotted Wheels! What do you think?

I picked up a set of 6 lug slotted wheels for 100 bucks off craigslist the other day.
they have the larger hub bore for the fronts should clean up decent with some elbow grease.
