What JJ said, really pretty.

Do you mind telling us what body shop you're using? I'm a fairly long way from Victorville but for a one time paint job it might be worth it if they're good and their price is reasonable.

maybe because that's where they put the heater switch
my 59 panel didn't have the hole, but it also didn't have a factory heater

Thumbs up Re: My Blue 1957 build

My first post..........it took me two hours to read everything since 2012, but well worth it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product, Great work!

I'm trying to restore my brother's truck that he had for over 30 years, but passed away in 2012 and wasn't able to restore it. Now I'm going to give it a shot and finish his dream.
It's a 1958 GMC 100 step side short bed.

I'll be around here often asking for advise since I never done this before.

So am I so if there's anything you need I may be able to help.
You do need to start a build thread.

No worries. Gotta ask questions somewhere. Start your own build thread so it's easier for you to keep track of what you have going on. Post some pictures. Say what you are intending on doing and ask for suggestions and opinions.

I will second that. There is something very cool about having a place to not only show, tell and share but to also ask, receive and learn. I am very convinced I get to enjoy and drive my truck today because of this board and the HAMB. Good stuff.

Now go put some more truck together!!!

Re: My Blue 1957 build

My brother came up yesterday afternoon and helped me get the motor and trans bolted in. Spent most of the day today finishing things up. I got a few small things to do before shes back on all 4, but thats going to have to wait till next week. On another note my dads 58 fired up today for the first time in damn near 30 years.
