Wink fun photo thread : working on your trucks

As the title states... photos you took while you were working on your truck.. I am looking for photos of the entire truck with all the bits and pieces scattered everywhere along with your tools and sanity, etc..

So, check your archives... or get creative the next time you are really into a project and you need a break... grab the camera and take some creative shots.

O.K., I'll start... post up some photos like this :

my 1965 C10 Chevrolet long wheel base step side :

rotating the tires and checking the brake shoes back in 2006

--

working on the charging system in the cold, December 2009

--

February 2012 : Changing out the master brake cylinder and replacing/bending a brake line I snapped in the process. Ooops.

NOTE: that hanging light is as old or older than I am…

----

If you have a build thread here on the forum, a web log or photo album... or all three, list them up in your posts if you like.

My site with details and oodles of photos on various repair adventures:

This is one of my favorite photos.
Here I am back in 1984, under my 1962 Donor Shortbed Frame, mounting up the Rebuilt 327 out of 1965 SS Impala.
Skinny 19 year old.

Re: fun photo thread : working on your trucks

Cool thread Woogeroo!

Here's a few I took recently after spring start up reviled a bottom end knock in my original 283. My engine re-builder is backed up so it may be a few months before I get the engine back. Did not want to go the whole summer without my truck, so I found another used 283 locally out of a '63 Impala and for $300 bucks I'm back on the road! Actually this engine runs very well for a non rebuilt engine, no smoke, good oil pressure etc. Will most likely keep it when I get the original back, always nice to have a spare 283 kicking around

Re: fun photo thread : working on your trucks

Final pic, the '63 Impala 283 installed sitting nicely! With the exception of this engine having the PVC setup & hole style valve covers compared to my original downdraft tube 283, you'd never know it was a replacement engine.

Re: fun photo thread : working on your trucks

I really dig your gmc murphy98. what did you do for your marker lights in the hood? I have the same hood and cant find new lenses for the 60-61 gmc hoods.

Re: fun photo thread : working on your trucks

Thanks very much hotrod66, you can actually buy reproduction lenses for the 60-61 GMC hoods now from a place in Ontario Canada, see this post for more info. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=613309

That being said, these lenses were not available when I did my truck so I adapted '58-'59 GM truck parking lamp bezels & lenses (I prefer the amber lenses anyway) to the hood parking lamp openings. Perfect fit, no hacking of the mesh area required. I just had to fab up a bracket to hold the bezels in place, not hard to do. I think they look really good and fit the contour of the hood very well.

That guy looks like he's ready for his first tool box.

Cool work shots everyone, thanks for sharing.

It's neat to see what we all get into wrenchin' on these things.

Here is one I call, 'hey, where is my door? '

Attachment 1270093

Replacing the door hinge pins with new bushings. Yes, I know the preferred way to do this job is to not take the door off the hinges... but I had to beat the old worn out pins out of the hinges with a hammer and punch.
