Need some Drivetrain advice on a 53 3100
I'm trying to help out my buddies dad. He has a very nice original restored 53 3100. It has a 235ci 6cyl 3spd on the column. He want to change over to a small block with a 3 speed manual tranny and different rearend. Does anyone have a kind of a parts list laying around or a build like this to point me in the right direction? Radiator, motor mounts, tranny, drive shaft, rearend? Looking for this to be a bolt in application with little fab work or is there more to it? Thanks in advance.

V-8 bell housing for 55-63 V8
Front V8 mounts I would use a later model 3 speed like a Saginaw, it would have the syncro first and its heavier. used in 60 to early 70's c10's V8 of course V8 gas pedal linkage Rear Camaro or S10 4x4 2001 up for disc |

Plus: drive shaft, U-joints, convert to 12V wiring, all new bulbs, voltage reducer for gauges, move column to L. 1 1/2 inches, complete exhaust. etc, etc.

What would my be my options if i could talk him into keeping the 6cyl? Just wanting to make it cruising friendly. He really doesnt want to alter the int. Keeping the shifter on the column. What trans. Clutch, rearend would make this happen? Or am i dreaming?
