Oil Canister Flow Issues - No return oil

Hello All,

I've attached a photo of the oil canister. Im curious as to how the oil is suppose to flow back into the engine. From all I can tell, I have a solid rod to which I bolt the canister top onto. This leads to the canister outlet into the engine. However, when I start the engine the oil just over flows out the canister like there is a missing hole or something.

As always, any help is appreciated.

Re: Oil Canister Flow Issues - No return oil

In continuing my search I stumbled upon this link.

Is the 1/16 hole that im missing all that goes on this? I see where there 'was' a hole but it is blocked over now. Guessing all I have to do is redrill that out?

The drain hole is in the bottom.

That's as good an answer as you can ever get right there by 1Project2many.

Oil goes in the side and out the bottom back to the crankcase. These are partial flow filters and only filter part of the oil each time letting it run back into the crankcase to be picked up by the oil pump again.
