Man, these steering wheels are on good
Yesterday I attempted to pull the steering wheel off the column I picked up last week, because I want the wheel and I may have the column sold. All I accomplished was snapping the heads clean off two of the correct size bolts that came with my Mac steering wheel puller when I bought it 25 years or so ago. Considering my previous experience is with Volkswagens, where you take the bolt off, wiggle the wheel a few times and it falls off, this wasn't not expected.
Everything is loose and I can see the splines, so I don't think I've forgotten to take anything off... have I? I'm running out to get some Grade 8 bolts tonight. |

Try getting it snug against the puller, put some pressure on it, then tap on the head of the puller, and then snug again, then do it again, etc, see if that helps you.

You need grade 8 bolts , get it real tight and hit the center part of the puller with a 20# hammer, I have had those grade 5 ones bend almost in half before.

Use your favorite flavor of penetrating oil. Mine was a bear to get off when I did my blinker switch. Be careful with that puller though. I had so much force on mine I mushroomed the shaft and had to file it down and thread it again. Be patient, you'll get it off.

Re: Man, these steering wheels are on good
It helps if you unscrew the nut, but leave it on the steering column shaft flush with the top of the threads. Then slip a piece of solid steel in between the top of the nut and the bottom of the puller bolt. This will prevent deforming the shaft if you whack the puller with a hammer.
