Used Parts Build
I have been meaning to start a build thread over here. I have one on the other forum so some might be familiar with it already. My goal is to build it with the most used and cheap parts as possible.
When I got her: [/QUOTE]

Re: Used Parts Build
First problem:
So I just started ripping it all apart: Surprisingly when I ripped out all the old wires that were twisted together it fixed the problem....

Re: Used Parts Build
So my brother had this lying around:
It was free so And done! The horn button doesnt fit with the o-ring they give you. I used a strip of tape instead of the ring and it fits great.

Re: Used Parts Build
I found on Jakes Transmissions that you could modify the valve body to firm up the shifts without a shift kit so I gave it a shot (I did post about this in a different subsection).
First was to remove the spring from here Then enlarge these holes Here we go Then plug this hole Tap and set screw for a dollar or two Tapped Plugged

Narrowed them 7/8'' of an inch and moved the ball joint to the front to increase caster

Holy **** it took forever to clean and paint everything...so long I am still doing it. Ugh. Here are some pics for now.
Got the crossmember out Cleaning Tacked in new studs Painting some parts: I only painted enough of the frame rails for the crossmember to bolt to for now.

Re: Used Parts Build
Found a pic of a bike I built years ago:
Anyway...I started sectioning a crossmember before I decided I was going to Z my truck. I worked on it a bit tonight. Figure I'll sell it and use the money towards the truck when I am done. Laying out the lines: One side: And the other: Apart! Just resting together: I still need to grind a bunch and work on the fitting. I figure I'd cut the lip off the front and weld it in together just for extra clearance. I am only going 1.25 on it so it shouldn't hit the steering.

Re: Used Parts Build
When I made the decision to Z it I figured why not do a SFBD...ugh. Need to stop this whole lowering thing...
Started working on my stock floor body drop. Got a piece of steel on sale for cheap. 3x4x1/4 it was a bit too thick but half price: Pulled my trans crossmember: Split the tube in half: Fit it in the frame:

And found a deal on some used rims and tires for my 350Z: Then went out and replaced my shocks and put lowering springs on my Z: Then washed her: And did a little bit of drilling on the steel I am boxing my frame with:
