We took the 68 Suburban on a really long road trip from Ontario Canada to Carsile PA then all over Cape Code. We have had a vibration the has gotten worst over the last few hours of driving. Looks like I need a new yoke for the rear diff as the tabs that hold the joint centered are worn. I had a shop weld the missing tab and replace the u joint but it didn't fix it.

I am looking for a shop in this area that can replace the yoke and verify the u joint angles . Were in Concord MA till noon is Sunday then going to head further north to NY If I keep it under 60mph its OK.

It was really cool to see these trucks at the Trucks nationals.

Well I bought a 2 ton bottle jack and a digital level and set the angles in the home depot parking lot. Hope there right

If you still need help you are probably better off heading up I-87 North to Plattsburgh. The back way into Lake Placid/Saranac Lake while scenic probably isn't going to get you much help even tomorrow.

Its still not smooth much better. I changed the rear to point up to 5 and the trans is down 4.4. I can't get the trans up any higher. 4.0 on trans would be the highest but not going to happen in a parking lot.

Hi - I'm near exit 30 off the NY State Thruway I90 (Herkimer, NY 13350). I would be willing to give you a yoke if you get anywhere near here. Let me know if I can help you out. Wayne

Wish I had seen this post sooner... I am by exit 25 (87) and have a mechanic that only works on classic rides in his shop. If anything we could of put the truck on the lift and see if he can fiqure it out.. If you head back down this way (Chestertown/brant lake) send me a pm
