New member, need recommendations on brake and steering upgrades

Hi Gentlemen, I'm the proud new owner of a '65 big window step side with a 350 V8.

The first thing I want to do is a front/rear disk brake conversion.
Add power steering.... Maybe even rack and pinion?
I also want to add air conditioning.

Looks like there's lots of experienced members here and I would love your recommendations on what kits to go with and who are the preferred vendors.

I just did a CPP disk kit on my truck and was very happy with the parts and finish. You'll hear both good and bad reviews on CPP. I have used them several times with no issue personally, but I've heard the horror stories.

I went CPP as well. 13" big brake kit for 73-up.

Personally I like Early Classic Enterprises and I've never heard, or read, a single horror story about them.

Avoid CPP. I figured I would be lucky even though I read all the bad stories. I was wrong. The parts are JUNK and I have spent a ton of time and money making my disc kit work. Not worth it.

Get a PS adapter plate from Captain fab on here and a good box from NAPA or some local store. This is what I did and I'm very happy with it.

I use Vintage Air in almost everything I put together. They work well and the tech support is great.

I just put a McGautys 6lug disc conversion onto my CPP 2.5 drop spindles and everything fit nicely.

No Limit Engineering makes a rack and pinion conversion for the '63-'72 trucks. There is a thread in the suspension section on them.

I just finished a 66 C10, I used a combination of factory 70 spindles from Craigslist and 6 lug rotors from Parts Plus (CPP has them too), reman calipers from Autozone, CPP booster/master/prop valve kit (which fit perfectly and works very well), hard line kit from Truck Shop and flex hoses from AutoZone.
Make sure your wheels will clear the calipers, if you have factory skinnies.
There are a few more parts to change depending on which way you're going with the steering.
Power steering conversion was done with used factory GM low mount brackets, 71 C10 pump and hoses; pre-76 steering gear (flare fitting), and a CPP frame mount kit. I have pics and part numbers if you want them.
As far as CPP parts go, I haven't had ANY fitment issues, the prices on some of their kits are very reasonable and the quality/finish is top notch.
I DO have issues with their customer service...Buying their products from FleaBay seems to keep them in line and shipping is faster with PayPal breathing down their necks.

I also use Ebay for my CPP purchases. That way you have both Ebay and Paypal behind you on a purchase.....good point Blue66c10

Did I mention CPP spams you to death too? I have ordered once under my name and once under the company name...but I used the same email address. Now every time they have a "BIGGEST SALE EVER" I get 2 emails at a time...

Thanks very much for the input guys! I'm still undecided on which brake system I will go with, but I have just ordered a Vintage Air Front Runner belt system, Spal 16" electric fan, Vintage Air AC system and a No Limit Engineering rack and pinion kit.
