Re: motoheader

I've always just popped the differential cover. It's stamped on the ring gear. If it's not you can always just count the teeth. You don't have to change the gears but if it's a high gear ratio it will be a dog off the line. I believe most 4x4 models came with 3.08, 3.73 or 4.11 gears stock.

Re: motoheader

32" is not an overly tall tire. How does it feel? Does it lug on take off? How tall were the stock tires?

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Re: motoheader

I had a 86 K10 305/ 4 speed with 3.08's and I went to 32s. Never an issue.

OK, thanks...dunno where I'm getting all this wrong info from on the web...also heard that over-sized tires would send my early 1983 TH700R4 to itz grave, since the earlier onez (TH700R4's) were too weak for runnin over-sized tires...comment anyone?...when did they start makin the "better" TH700R4's?... motoheader (nick-name) thankz guyz!!
