Help!!!! Closed knuckle dana 44 questions

Help! I'm running into an issue putting original spicer hubs off a 67 on my 68 (should be the same?) noticing the 67 has shorter axles. I can't get hubs to slide in diff on my 68, it's hitting the axle. Vs the 67, the axle is way farther in. I compared 2 68s, both are same length.

Do I have two trucks that someone switched axles or are 67 different? Anyone ran into this?

Thanks!

Re: Help!!!! Closed knuckle dana 44 questions

Matt,

I rebuilt my closed-knuckle last fall, it is under 69 GMC K10 built 2/69 in the Fremont plant. I believe the front end is original to the truck. The axles in my 69 are the longer varity, like the ones in post #2. I am jealous of your OEM hubs. Are you working on a K20? Wish I had more help, Bruce
