disc brake conv.
Does anyone know what I need from a 1985 pick up with front disc brakes to make my 65 c20 with front brakes into a disc? I found a 85 with 8 lug disc brakes? What do I need? Thanks for your time and advice in advance.

Re: disc brake conv.
A dual reservoir master cylinder. (vacuum/booster is optional but recommended)
proportion valve The spindles off the 1985 to hold the brake calibers and wheel's. you'll need to replace the upper and lower ball joints in the old control arms to fit into the 85 spindle. That's just the "Need" not the "Want's" There's Ton's of info in the FAQ's section with some really detailed "How To's" depending on how much you want to go with the conversion. |

Re: disc brake conv.
It is basically the same as for a C10, with the exception of changing the lower control arms. You can not do that on a '63-'66 C20/30. IMO the easiest is to change the entire front suspension, crossmember and all. An easy way to get what you will need is to take everything from the firewall forward. That way you will have power disc brakes and power steering.
There is a member here that says the disc brake lower ball joint will fit the '63-'66 lower control arms by enlarging them slightly with a die grinder and a flap wheel or sanding drum. Here is one of the many threads on the subject that can be found in the '60-'66 FAQ Index, found at the top of the '60-'66 main page. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=367260
