Will 6" Lowering Kit Fix Stink Bug Stance?

I am not sure which lowering kit was used from the PO. I went through all the papers and can't seem to find any info. All I can figure out is it is a Early Classic lowering kit but not sure what size. The front was converted to 5 lugs so I think it has drop spindles and lowering springs.

The rear has some room to be put in the weeds. Will 6" springs bring the rear down enough to match the front?

Do I have enough room with the exhaust to fix the rear?

Thanks

I think 6" springs will give you what you are looking for. It's funny,it already has ECE shock relocators and maybe 2"-3"(?) drop springs. Your exhaust is no doubt low,but I don't see lowering the rear changing the lowest point much at all. Some full-length headers don't drop nearly that low. Most guys go with 3/4 length or car headers.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Man these headers hang low. I remember reading somewhere that guys use Malibu or Camaro headers?

I am not sure which Headman headers these are?

Re: Will 6" Lowering Kit Fix Stink Bug Stance?

Looks like you have 4" lowering springs now. I compared them to my 4" springs. I added a 1.5" block. I didn't like the clearance up front so I change to a skinner wheel and taller tires in the front and rear.

With different wheels and tires

Sierra, what size tires/wheels? I have 255/60's all the way around... 4" springs, 1" block on the rear and I cut 1 coil off the front springs. Have the shock relocators and an adj. panhard bar. I like the way it sits but NOT the ride. Pretty harsh.

Hey BugzC10, I still haven't seen your truck around Titusville. The monthly show at the Daytona flea. Mkt. is tomorrow morning. Usually a pretty good show if the weather's nice.. nice blast up I-95 with a breakfast stop along the way.

Hey RustyBucket...haven't been able to drive it. I'm in the middle of installing Vintage Air Sure Fit A/C system. I'll get to that swap meet one of these days.

Sorry for stepping on your thread SierraMtns

Re: Will 6" Lowering Kit Fix Stink Bug Stance?

Hey! Love the Step Side.

Further to our PM chat. While I'm not a fan of shock travel with 6" springs, if you are using the 6" Hotchkis, they make shocks to match. Personally, I'd ask about the body length and talk to them about how you are using your truck. It's not a big deal if you are just street driving. But, if you are going to start tracking the truck, you'll need proper stock travel and geometry.

My set-up was fine, but we got so aggressive on track days we started wacking the the rear end pumpkin into the floor of the bed.

Re: Will 6" Lowering Kit Fix Stink Bug Stance?

I have a 4/5 drop on mine and I was running those same headers before I did my swap. They only hit high speed bumps that was about it. I cringed on the interstate sometimes when I would hit pot holes or humps.
