I also tried my hubcap idea today; turned out pretty well IMO. I'm going to paint the centers red and see how that looks next. |

FWIW, here's how they look with the centers painted with some IH red spray paint.

I have been loving on mine. 12 bolt rear end swap with 3.73 gears and a POSI. Disc brakes. Drop spindles. Low and level. Just how I wanted it.

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
not sure if you had posted the info before on your 1/2 ton swap, but on the front did you swap whole crossmember or use the c20 to c10 kit that cpp makes.

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
No. 6 lug now. The 12 bolt was from a 1970 C10.
My hauling needs are light. I just need to haul hay, tack, grain and other horse-related items (except for the horses themselves.) 355 motor TK0500 3.73 gears Posi Big disk brakes Wheels that go round and round I might finally have something here. |

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
Thanks for your response. I'm looking at discs for my front, but want to keep 8 lugs. Did you by chance look into that on your journey?
I have a 64 C20 3/4T. I put a Dana 60 out of a 72 Suburban to get a 3:54 ratio. Way better than the 4:56 it had originally. |

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
I bet! Mine had 4:56 as well. I went to 3:73 because I have overdrive. I was open to either retaining the 8 bolt or swapping and it just happened to end up that I swapped to 6 lug rims.

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
Thanks for sending the link. I'll be saving that one for sure. I'm hoping to find a way to use a donor vehicle to keep the cost down. Looking at various blogs, early 70's - 3/4 T - 2 wheel drive donors should work. I haven't found anyone who has actually done it.

How to make a Chevy even more American...
Park it in front of the American flag that used to fly above Chapman Chevy in Phoenix. (Makes the truck look a little like a matchbox.) |

Hey, Sodly, bidders showed some love for this one, but reserve was not met. There is a following for the more beefier version.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Chevy-K...p2047675.l2557

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
If its 5/6 lug, is it still a 3/4 ton???
Still, its a nice, patriotic pickup!

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
Here is mine when I first got it. Since then I have replaced the hood with one that is the same color as the truck. 64 C20 with a crate 350 in it and posi trac. Is a camper special or custom camper however you want to classify it. Need to put the custom sail panels back on. Bought it without a grille or bumper from the original owners family. But he had another truck he was working on and put the painted grille and bumper on and took the chrome. Ill get to that eventually haha

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?
Thanks for posting gpk1961, a very nice representation for an under represented vehicle. I appreciate you keeping the stock theme, duplicating the appearance of the '61 hubcap design on a later model hubcap with newer bump type wheels. A little white and red paint goes a long way, 98% of the public would think they are period correct.
