Well, I have been lurking for a while. This site is awesome to say the least. My dad has recently given me his 1972 SWB 4x4. He bought it new and done a half job at restoration in '88. All stock, except quite a bit of age. I have had so many memories in this truck when I was a child and teenager. I met my wife driving Ol red in 1994..... His truck has been sitting for quite some time, but Im really excited to get it going.
I just found a nice deal on a 69 4x4 for $2000, headed there now!! |

Welcome to the forum. You're among friends here. I like the red truck.

Sounds like my experience! My dad gave me his 1972 that he bought new. I haven't met any women in it (yet) but I did have some great dates with my high school girlfriend 20 years ago.
Considering it as a dating vehicle, why would anyone prefer floor shift over column shift and bucket seats over a bench? |

Thanks everyone. Fldawg I may hit you up on that one day. I'm gonna get started soon on striping it down to the frame then get started rebuilding. We got home late last night but I think I got a good buy with my parts truck.

Re: New Member
Thanks. I just needed the body, previous owner put the 69 body on a 76 frame. They used some "crafty" engineering to say the least... But I'm happy at $2000.
