3 on the tree

Unusual problem. When I align the 3/16 pin in the slots and adjust the linkage it puts the column lever too far down and hits my leg. If I rest the pin on the column slot and push it through the actual lever holes then adjust the linkage the column lever is fine. Any comments? I did read the article that most folks point you too but it doesn't address this issue.

Loosen the brackets that hold the column and twist the whole column
