1967 squirrel cage
is a 67 c10 squirrel-cage different from the others in this era? I pulled off my heater housing from the firewall and discovered a huge mouses nest in all cavities. Its all cleaned up but now I need to replace the squirrel cage as the mouse was chewing on it and ate it all up. This one seems to be a little bit smaller though. It measures 2 and three quarter inches top to bottom

Re: 1967 squirrel cage
I don't know if the squirrel cages were common across other GM models. I only know what's original to my 69 with A/C. If a mouse damaged yours by chewing on it, I'd say it's incorrect since mine is made of steel. As I recall, it's also much more than 2-3/4" diameter... more like 5"or 6". It just fits through the hole in the box.

From what I have seen '67-'72 non A/C are all the same size. Most of them are plastic but I have seen a few metal ones. Not familiar with the A/C ones.... LockDoc

Never paid any attention to that but the motors themselves are the same up into the late '70's. LockDoc

Re: 1967 squirrel cage
You can? I bet a small engine shop could. The motor works well. Just the cage was all chewed up

Re: 1967 squirrel cage
It's seems a common place for mice to make a nest. Mine was way so bad it smelled and rotted the interior air box also chewed up the cage. I had to clean and replaced everything. If I recall the cage was 5 to 6 inches round.

Re: 1967 squirrel cage
It is to my understanding that heater cab squirrel cages are plastic and AC cabs are steel
