I would like to upgrade my 1970 gmc 4 speed trans, what is the best one to use thanks

Do you want to go automatic or 6 speed and how much horsepower does the upgrade need to handle?

I want to stay with a manual trans 4 or 6 speed either is fine and will hold up to some power.
