Wanted stock gas pedal cable type 1971 to 1972 98281

Putting new floor coverings in my 1967 and don't want to use the floor mounted gas pedal and put holes in the nice rugs.
Also easier to keep the floor clean with pedal out of the way.

Was going to use a lokar set-up but that is too bling for me, even in black.

So I'd like to find a 1971-72 set-up and I'll use LFD's adapter.

I'm in Vancouver, Canada but have a mailbox in Washington state at 98281.

I have a few in the garage, $40 shipped to you. So Im correct, you only need the pedal or do you need the cable and carb bracket too?

Certainly... you can blast, wire wheel or whatever you like to get it ready.
I can switch it out with another if your concerned and add another pic tonight.

I'm running the 250 inline 6 cyl and three on the tree if you happen to have that bracket. But I will take what you have and work with it.

Hey Mike I just wanted to let you know I made it to the mailbox and received the gas pedal. It's in good shape as described. Thank you.

One thing I don't understand is how the cable connects to the pedal.?

Its got a little lead ball on the cable, and a fairly large hole in the pedal.?

Here are a few pics I had on file showing how the cable and pedal rod go together. I just highlighted the important cable to pedal retaining bushing in yellow and also drew the cable in place in yellow in the one pic. Mel

#1. remove plastic slotted cable bushing from cable if present
#2. insert cable thru the larger pedal rod hole
#3. install plastic slotted cable bushing back onto the cable
#4. pull cable back into plastic bushing so it clips back inside pedal rod hole

Hey thanks Mel..! That was very kind of you.!

I see your instruction "#1. remove plastic slotted cable bushing from cable if present" and, unfortunately, my slotted bushing is not present. But, thanks to you, I see how it works and can probably rig something up. That slotted bushing is one of those things it might be very hard to buy.

No problem, am always glad to help. If the purchased pedal setup was the one pictured from post #8 of this thread, then you can see the slotted cable bushing was still stuck in the pedal rod hole. Mel
