New guy

Hello everybody, been lurking here for a while, and finally got a Blazer. Been wanting one for years and picked this up locally. 350 auto, runs good, new Toyo 33" tires, floors, rockers and firewall solid. All the outer sheetmetal is shot except for the hood and one fender. The plan is to drive it for a while and tear into it this winter. First things to go are the 4" lift, tall tires and the ugly-ass color. I'm to old to climb in and out of it so it needs to come down.

Welcome! Nice Blazer! That's an original color (ochre) - is the paint original? Any pics of the option decal (SPID) inside the glovebox? Pete

Re: New guy

Great looking blazer! Do you know if it is a western truck originally or did it spend its life in the mid west? Love the original ochre color!

I don't think it's a ugly color at all. I used to think so but it grew on me and is now one of my favorites. Nice blazer....

Re: New guy

I sure can't see in the pics why most of the outer sheet metal is "shot"! Nice truck!

Trust me, it's not good. The quarters had been patched years ago with hand formed patches and up close you can see the seam lines and bondo coming apart. Both doors are rusted along the bottoms, tailgate has some patches pop-riveted in. It is a decent 20 footer though, and not near as bad as some I have looked at.

Re: New guy

That just happens to be one of my favorite colors. I guess it's because I happen to have one that color. Well it looks good from the pictures. They make just about everything to repair these things now. Good luck with your upcoming build. Post plenty of pictures of your progress. You know now we all love to see pictures here. And Welcome to the board.
