Yes! I can't believe we got it on the road so quick. Only thing I dislike it the stick shifting. I am not use to it. I have always owned automatics. I wanted to convert it to a powerglide or th350 but seems like there is no place to bolt a transmission crossmember to this frame. I am use to the 64-66 chassis with the extra holes. Even if I wanted to convert it to v8 there are no holes to put the mounts at.

Nate I wish I had a carport too. Well not to much progress due to having to keep up with my daily 01 silverado but Did put in a new fuel pump and did alil bit of rattle can paint on the front end for now. I am still on the hunt for an original 60-61 crossmember for my cast iron powerglide that I want to put in my old pickup.

Baby steps will always get you where you want to go , don't give up just keep picking away at anything and every thing you can do , even the piddly things as that'll keep your interest up .

Sooner or later you'll find someone who is building a Hot Rod , they'll want to discard that old Power Glide cross member .

have you yet searched The Old Car manual Project to see what the original part & is for that application ?

Once you have that , you can cross reference if to see how many years and different models used it , making it vastly easier to find .

Maybe find someone with a Hollander interchange book to look it up for you ? .

Will do! I never drivin stick shift before. WOW 30yrs old and finally learning. Never had the chance before. I feel like a dummy. I have only took it out a few times. I wish it was automatic but I found it difficult and expensive to do with a inline 235 and having the x frame. I dont want to change anything if it is not' broke. And I do not want to be broke! ha. I love this truck!

When I was 20 or so I bought a Toyota Four Runner, '84 to be exact. I thought man I'd love to have one of those so I took my saved up cash and bought it sight unseen. Actually my stepfather went and looked at it, but I didn't see it till it got to my house. To my surprise at the time it was a 5 speed. Oh crap, I don't know how to drive stick. So for about a week or better it sat in the driveway. My first flirt with it was to drive it up our driveway which was steep. Figured if I could master that the rest would be easy. It took awhile but I got it. My stepfather drove it more than I did when I first got it. Then I drove the crap out of it. I learned how to stall it out faster than anybody around. When I moved out the place I lived at had an even steeper driveway, so I got to practice more. The more you do it the better you'll get at it. Good luck.

Maybe it is because I live in a busy area with to much traffic. I get tired of it even in my automatic truck.

Yeah..Orange Country is a crazy place...but that means your right next to The Truck and Car shop! Makes it worth while! lol!

The factory auto crossmembers were nearly impossible to find 20+ years ago. They pop up every now and then on Ebay, but usually list for $300-400.

Thanks!! I seen that posting the other day doing a search on here. Yea no matter what It is gonna be expensive especially an adapter plate to put on the inline 235 and I dont want to get rid of that lil sixer. I love it to much!

Yea got quite a few place to choose from. Still rather have my truck out in the country somewhere. Hopefully soon
