Looking at a 1971 Cheyenne
I'm new to the forum and the Chevy truck world. I'm looking at a 71 Cheyenne short box that's for sale in my area and was wondering what I should be looking for prior to purchase. I have very little history on the truck other than it supposedly came from NC 5 or 6 years ago. The tag on the glove box lists it as a 115" wb and the frame appears to be intact and not cut. Where should one look for rust repairs on a truck like this? This truck has a vinyl and cloth seat with a pouch on the front edge of the seat where your calf would be, is that the original seat cover design? It has been repainted which may be covering up some repairs. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry

Re: Looking at a 1971 Cheyenne
Welcome from Texas!!
Things to look for; Rust in rockers, cab corners, cab floor, door bottoms, drip edges. Use a good magnet to check all fender, door, rockers, and cab corners. Sounds like a after market seat cover has been added. Post pictures, and a picture of the "SPID", sticker in glove box for more info. Good luck on your "Truck Hunt", and welcome to the forum.
