I am out here in Oregon where the 64-66 trucks are plentiful and have meet some people that maybe able to help.

TBONE just gave me the heads up to keep an eye out during my weekend travels. LT1Burb may be a source, he had a few that we have hauled back and selected the "best 2" for his project. The one's that didn't make the cut are definitely repairable (he's just not a body guy) and he might be able to help.

I wouldn't bother. He sent me a pic when I texted him and he said they were dent free and nice shape. In the pic you can tell they are trashed. Bent, crushed, the rear tail light cap was stitched on poorly etc.

that guy lives 20 miles from me. there is no bed that's worth $3000. I guess i'll keep looking.

Depending on the shape.

I bought a whole truck for $500. sold what I didnt want\need ( cab was waisted!) then totally redid the box, few repair panels ( mostly under the tail lights). blasted, body worked and painted, I have probably $600 in each plus the header too.

So if I were to buy for say $1000 and sink the time and effort into them like I did, I would have $2500.00 in them even before they touched the frame.

I moved my other SWB bed onto a trailer, it isnt in near the shape this new bed is now.

Now to put it together...wish I had a few extra hands...it will take time, but Ill get it done.

I have one I spent 500.00 on and it still needs work. I would say that a thousand a side is not expensive anymore. Guarantee you buy a bed for 750 and it'll cost 2 thousand more to straighten it.
