Aluminum or stainless steel headers
Looking at putting new headers on my small block 350. A guy locally is selling aluminum ones. But I've found stainless steel ones online at a better price. What's a better choice? I won't be hot-rodding. Just want the one with the least issues.

Re: Aluminum or stainless steel headers
I've never seen or run any aluminum ones but I have run a lot of stainless. I like the stainless and if you can swing the extra cost of having them ceramic coated, they will stay looking good for many years?

Re: Aluminum or stainless steel headers
I wouldn't want an aluminum header. Aluminum melts around 1200 degrees. Pistons don't mind since there is only a limited time for flame on there tops but the header tube sees that flame for a longer time. I would assume that the headers are aluminized steel like exhaust pipe.

Re: Aluminum or stainless steel headers
Thanks for the info. I'll go with stainless. About the same cost anyway.
