No, it has one of the original "Ranger" overdrives, built by I think, Doug Nash Equipment, back in the 70's, early 80's, before being bought out by Advance Adapters. The original Ranger overdrives utilized an electric motor to shift the gears, same as a two speed rear from a 2 or 2.5 ton truck. When Advance Adapters bought the rights to the Ranger, they changed the shifter to a lever, I assume because of shift motor failures due to too much heat from the proximity to the exhaust. I have driven both styles of Rangers, and much prefer the electric shift motor design. |
