72' tbh400 problems
Hey fella's new guy here with a quick question!
I recently Purchased a 72' lwb (305/400) from a buddy. Was a daily go getter for him till one day he drove home ,then went to leave the next day and the truck had no want for the forward motion only reverse. Can someone tell me what could possibly Be the problem please? Easy fix or new trans needed? Thanks in advance! |

Had my TH350 grenade that way; not an easy fix. Plan on replacing or rebuilding the transmission.

Re: 72' tbh400 problems
Did you check the fluid level? Sometimes if the modulator goes bad it drinks all the fluid with no leak.

Re: 72' tbh400 problems
One possibility is the valve shift linkage is not moving the shift valve, (if the fluid level is ok). Other possibilities are more serious such as low oil pressure and problems with the forward clutch.
